Ivano Borile - le canzoni

Ivano Borile, nostro amico e fratello, è mancato l’8 aprile 2020, nell’immediato inizio della pandemia. 

Ivano è stato un grande appassionato di musica, uno straordinario chitarrista e interprete. Per tutta la vita ha cantato e suonato: da adolescente negli Eva, punk-band con canzoni in italiano formata con i meravigliosi amici di quegli anni spensierati. Ivano in quegli anni dimostrava già la sua inventiva e tantissima voglia di divertirsi. Dopo gli Eva è stata la volta di un’altra band, questa volta di cover punk: gli Wonders. Nel repertorio brani di Eddie Cochran (Summertime blues, C’mon Everybody), Adverts, Husker Du… In questa band Ivano ha potuto dare sfogo a tutta l’energia che aveva dentro, cominciando a lavorare con maggior impegno agli arrangiamenti. Negli anni successivi ha suonato nella folk-band Orchestrina Katerinke, nella rock band Follow Me Linda e negli Zed Negative, formazione post-punk con in repertorio brani dei Pere Ubu, dei Gang of Four e dei Bad Brains: in questa band Ivano ha potuto pienamente dimostrare le sue capacità di arrangiatore, plasmando via via i sofisticati brani in scaletta. Successivamente ha suonato e cantato come frontman negli Ivan Smirnoff and The Bloodymarys, trio con in repertorio brani sceltissimi di rockabilly, beat, surf, e rock’n roll.

La cultura musicale di Ivano era straordinaria perché la sua sensibilità musicale era sterminata, e lo stesso si può dire per cinema, arte, letteratura. Il suo mondo interiore si è sempre e costantemente nutrito d’arte, l’ha sempre cercata, l’ha vissuta, l’ha condivisa e alla fine se la portava addosso come un’aura. 

In tutti questi anni di attività Ivano ha lasciato numerose registrazioni (Lo-Fi, ma non solo) di canzoni scritte di proprio pugno. Il nostro obiettivo è quello di far reinterpretare in studio i brani scritti da Ivano da musicisti che sappiano far emergere dalle registrazioni tutto il valore artistico latente, e di realizzare un cd commemorativo di circa dieci canzoni, in 250 copie, con booklet a colori, comprendente anche alcune registrazioni originali di Ivano. E’ inoltre nostra intenzione musicare un breve testo inedito di Ivano. Tutto questo allo scopo di tenere viva la memoria del nostro amico e fratello, a partire dalla valorizzazione della sua passione e del suo straordinario talento in ambito musicale.

Ivano Borile, our friend and brother, passed away on April 8, 2020, at the immediate onset of the pandemic.

Ivano was a great music lover, an extraordinary guitarist, and an incredible performer. He spent all his life singing and playing with different bands: as a teenager in the Eva, a punk band with songs in Italian, formed with the wonderful friends of those carefree years. In those years Ivano already showed his inventiveness and a lot of desire to have fun. After Eva, it was the turn of another band, this time based on punk covers: the Wonders. In their repertoire were songs by Eddie Cochran (Summertime blues, C'mon Everybody), Adverts, Husker Du... In this band Ivano was able to break free all the energy he had inside, starting to work harder on the arrangements. In the following years, he played in the folk-band Orchestrina Katerinke, in the rock band Follow Me Linda, and in Zed Negative, a post-punk formation with songs from Pere Ubu, Gang of Four, and Bad Brains in its repertoire: in this band Ivano was able to fully demonstrate his skills as an arranger, gradually shaping the sophisticated songs in the setlist. Later he played and sang as frontman in the Ivan Smirnoff and The Bloodymarys, a trio with carefully selected rockabilly, beat, surf, and rock'n roll songs in the repertoire.

Ivano's musical culture was extraordinary thanks to his boundless musical sensibility, and the same can be said for film, art, and literature. His inner world was always and constantly nourished by art, he always sought it out, lived it, shared it, and in the end carried it with him like an aura.

In all these years of activity, Ivano left behind numerous recordings (Lo-Fi, but not only) of songs written by his own hand. Our goal is to have these songs written by Ivano, reinterpreted in the studio by musicians who know how to bring out all the latent artistic value from the recordings, and to make a commemorative CD of about ten songs, in 250 copies, with a full-color booklet, also including some of Ivano's original recordings. It is also our intention to set to music a short unpublished text by Ivano. All this is in order to keep alive the memory of our friend and brother, starting with the appreciation of his passion and extraordinary talent in the field of music.
