DC Area Jazz Musicians Benevolence Fund
Tax deductible
Jazz musicians are some of the most important culture creators we have in our area. With the music presenting establishments shut down globally, there are now no gigs occurring anywhere. Many musicians depend only on gigs for their livelihoods and this situation is overwhelming, both financially and emotionally. But we can make a difference.
We are raising money through Southwest Renaissance Development Corporation (sponsoring organization of "Jazz Night in D.C." at Westminster Church) to benefit musicians in need during this pandemic and public crisis. This benevolence fund will be available to help DC area jazz musicians in dire straits pay rent, buy food, pay utilities, etc. Any donation you give will make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to so many.
Surely, life will return to normal at some point in the future. However, the damage done to many will take years to rectify without help from the jazz community at large. The more we respond and engage now, the more likely our Jazz community will flourish again soon. Please consider your gift toward making that happen.
