This is Meredith Strickland’s story. She is 16 years old. She was diagnosed with a disease called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, POTS for short, about 2 years ago. It is an invisible disease that causes many issues. It causes her heart to race and causes symptoms throughout her entire body like extreme fatigue, migraines, lightheadedness, passing out, heart palpitations, exercise intolerance, chronic dehydration, nausea, vomiting, shaking, anxiety, depression, decreased concentration, joint pain, shortness of breath, and poor circulation that causes her hands and feet to turn blue. She suffers from many of these on a daily basis. She has been sick since she was born and has seen every specialist there is because of all of these different symptoms. She has seen several doctors since diagnosis and has been on many different treatment plans with very little success. Right now she is taking Physical Therapy, taking 7 pills a day, one injection a week, and IV fluids as needed with minimal relief. It is now limiting her ability to go to school, participate in activities, and enjoy life like a normal 16 year old should. We are raising money to take her to The POTS Treatment Center in Dallas, Texas in February. It is a comprehensive 14 day treatment program that cost $5,000 and insurance does not cover it. Travel, lodging and car rental for this trip will also be very costly. Any donation will be greatly appreciated, and if you can’t donate, please still keep us in your prayers. Please help us give Meredith her quality of life back! Thank you so much for your donations and prayers.
