Hey, my name is Jamie Wiley. I am a 35-year-old husband and father of one. I am posting this gofundme because we as a family have come across extremely hard times as of late. We have struggled with keeping up with bills for a couple of years now, especially after the passing of our 12-year-old daughter Jocelyn Dunahugh. She passed away in Sept 2020 of Heart Transplant rejection. I was the only one working so that my wife could stay home with my daughter, Olivia Wiley, 6, who is diagnosed with Stage 2 autism. Kristin has been staying home since Olivia was diagnosed at 2 years old due to the complications of having 2 disabled children. Jocelyn had been a the recipient of two heart transplants over the span of a decade, so Kristin stayed home to take care of both of our babies.
We could never afford daycare services so we had to just kinda make do. On top of that, my wife suffers from PTSD due to the loss of Jocelyn and severe social anxiety which makes going to work difficult as well. After many discussions, my wife decided to get back into the job market and found a job at Amazon. But my old work schedule, as well as only having one vehicle, made that difficult for us and ultimately she lost the opportunity before she could even begin.

Fast forward to now and things have really taken a downward turn. At the beginning of March, our car had broken down. Our only vehicle. At the beginning of April, I lost my job. Since then I have been able to snag an opportunity at two new jobs because I do NOT want to be stuck at home not working. I've always had a solid work ethic and take pride in providing for my family. The only problem is that the onboarding process is taking a lot longer than we expected and we have run through my last check, borrowed from family and a friend, and depleted what little savings we had left. We are in a really bad position because we were already struggling to pay our bills. Now with nearly a month of hardly any income, we are in danger of having our water shut off, our electric and internet shut off, finding a vehicle anytime in the near future, etc. We are barely getting by, and I emphasize barely, but it appears that we are reaching the end of the line. Kristin and I can make do without the extras in life that aren't needed and without eating regularly (sometimes not at all) but I cannot sit idly by while my daughter goes without. I cannot express the embarrassment and shame that even having to entertain the thought of my daughter going without brings. Luckily we are already in the process of getting food stamps and potentially unemployment but the processes are taking a really long time.
Many of you that know us know that Kristin and I have never been ones to ask for help. We have been through 10 years together and have been through our ups and downs but this is truly the hardest time we have faced. We are rapidly running out of options and decided to take an out-of-the-box approach. We are very humble people. We appreciate any help that you can give us and completely understand if you can not. Trust us. We understand. All we ask is that if you can not please still pop in and drop some words of encouragement if you can. We are in desperate need of both right now im afraid. Thank you so much from the Wiley family! We appreciate all of you!
