DCI Age Out Dues 2024
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Anthony and I've always had a strong passion for the arts, specifically color guard. I began this activity in high school and loved every second of it. I had always planned to march professionally with a DCI group, but unfortunately covid my senior year of high school and 4 years of very expensive and time consuming college along with many summer courses did not allow for it. I am incredibly excited to be graduating this May with a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience from Baylor University. I plan to move on to higher education following a gap year of working and saving. In this gap year I plan to utilize my extra free time this summer to finally march with a DCI group. I am 21 and will be 22 in the summer. The age limit for marching is 21. This means that this summer would be my last opportunity to march professionally. This is something that is incredibly important to me and I have put off doing in the interest of prioritizing my education. Getting accepted into a group is a very prestigious accomplishment itself and not an opportunity available to many people. I am extremely lucky to have this opportunity and do not want to waste it. Now that I am reaching a milestone of graduating and have the time and opportunity to march professionally, I want to seize it. DCI, as you might have guessed, however is not very cheap. The corp I am looking to march at currently has a steep tuition of $6000. I have already been penny pinching and moving money around and have a bit saved. I will be picking up more hours through this last semester of college in an attempt to save even more but I know I can't do it alone. There are payment plans and I must fulfill my financial obligations in the form of monthly payments by May. Letting this opportunity slip away because of a roadblock such as money is not something I intend to do. I will work hard to earn as much as I can on my own and any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you <3
