Hi , My name is Alexis Lopez and I am a Miss Universe Canada 2016 National Delegate. I am partnered with the Miss Universe Canada Organization to raise awareness and funds for the international children's medical charity, Operation Smile Nicaragua.
Suffering, tormented and rejected, even by those who are supposed to love them most-children around the world born with cleft lips and cleft palates have been waiting their whole lives for our help. In many resource-poor environments, there is a dire shortage of surgical equipment and care providers. Hospitals often don’t have the basic necessities to carry out successful surgery – equipment like oxygen monitors and anesthesia units. There might not be any antibiotics or pain medication. And essentials like sanitary masks, gloves and gowns are unavailable.
But because of generous supporters like you, Operation Smile is able to bring everything needed for safe surgery – from sterile operating room towels to IV kits, anesthesia and much more!
The prime goal is to provide 500 smiles this year in order to eradicate the backlog of patients that have never been treated and are difficult to access. I aim to raise $1200 dollars by the end of May .With your help and support I know this goal is possible. 100% of the proceeds are given to Operation smile Nicaragua.
I believe we have the power to make a difference and provide a child with the quality of care every child rightfully deserves to have. Let's strive for a world where no child suffers from lack of safe surgery. Let us make a child's dream become a reality-to be able to smile brightly!
I hope to spread light on this very important cause not only to encourage others to help make a difference but to teach others especially the youth of today on how one can make a change even from miles away. I truly believe these children deserve an equal shot in life to be able to smile-something so many of us take for granted. So please join me in helping me make a child SMILE today!
