Onofrio "No-No" Zicari was only 21-years-old when he landed on the beaches of Normandy with the 5th Infantry Division. His unit was part of the 5th wave assault on the German-occupied France on June 6, 1944.

"I wasn’t afraid of dying, but I was scared," No-No recalls. "We didn’t know what to do. It was chaos.”

It was on that beach where No-No lost several friends from his unit, including a medic who patched him up after No-No was hit in the leg and shoulder with shrapnel.  What he experienced on those beaches has stayed with him for almost 75 years.

“To this day when I think about that, I tear up," he said. "It was very discouraging to see so many of our guys dead.”

No-No has not been back to France since the war ended. Together, we can send him to Normandy to honor the 75th Anniversary of the invasion. We can bring honor and healing to his life.

No-No will travel with Forever Young Senior Veterans , a non-profit that organizes "Trips of Honor" for WWII veterans. He will join 14 other D-Day veterans from across the nation, all of whom participated in the invasion.

“I never thought I'd get an opportunity to go back to Omaha Beach. For one, I never had the money," he said. " This will be a time to reminisce and be with the boys who stormed the beach with me. I’m definitely looking forward to it. I'm ready now, so let’s go!”

The funds raised will cover No-No's airfare, hotels, transportation, three meals per day, as well as tours.

Let's make his dream come true together!
