On August 30th, 2019 a tragedy swept the streets of Philadelphia. Charnea Smith’s vibrant and promising life was ended as a result of gun violence. Charnea was a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, recent college graduate, and a friend to many.
As expected, Charnea’s parents, family, and friends were shocked and devastated after receiving the news of the August 30th incident. Charnea was full of life, always smiling, always there for all. She left a mark wherever she went and anyone who had the chance to be in her presence, felt a genuine, positive, remarkably amazing energy from Charnea always.
After recently receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, Charnea couldn’t wait to plan her future. Her sudden and unexpected passing put a halt to this planning and is now forcing the family to plan a different future for Charnea instead; one that they were not prepared to plan.
During this difficult time, the family is asking all who loved and has ever smiled as a result of Charnea’s loving personality to help, if you can, with laying their angel to rest. The city’s victim fund will only cover half the cost . And is a reimbursement, not a payment. So her parents will still have to pay for the total cost of the funeral.
Anything is appreciated. If you can help, we thank you and if you can’t, your prayers and kind words are enough. All of the funds will be used for the cost of the funeral. Thank you guys so much! From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate it.
