Help Southern Salsa Recover What's Stolen
Donation protected
Our Dance School feels so broken. Discouraged and disappointed. Today we arrived at the studio to find it robbed, this is now twice in two days.
For those who know James closely, you'll know that he'd literally do anything for anyone.
Also, you'd be acutely aware that Covid has devastated dance school and entertainment financials in regards to business. We work so hard, but are exhausted, and don't know what to do, we honestly feel defeated. Plus the police aren't going to camp out here all day waiting.
If you'd like to know what happened, basically this:
- yesterday the studio was broken into during the day, as only alcohol and some coins were taken, we just added locks, deterrents and fixed the doors.
- today we arrived at the studio, and there's holes in walls, all power tools have gone, the till, a staff member's laptop and they've piled up alcohol and look as though they will be returning tomorrow for that.
- we have been to the police, have made a report and are getting the cctv.
- it's looking as though the insurance policy will cover the broken doors, locks etc, but nothing else mentioned above, and it honestly makes me feel unwell and betrayed.
This theft affects so many people. We support several charities, and have great relationships with other small businesses - we can't do this when we can't operate properly. We see parties, events, festivals and socials with sometimes exclusively people originally from the Southern Salsa studio, We see so many friendships made here, we have other dance schools that use the space, that a group of volunteers, physically built. We believe that we genuinely do really good things.
If you feel as we do, then I'd love you to "buy me a beer" (Just means the equivalent in a financial donation form). It feels very weird to ask for money, but we're hopeful that the community can help us bounce back from this.
Please share, much love <3
