Funeral Expenses for Sarom Bun

Donation protected
On the day of Thursday Dec 8th 2022, Sarom Bun's wife woke up with a cold arm hugging her. Shrugging at his cold arm, she threw a blanket over it and persistently asked him to get up. As she reached over to help him up, she found the lifeless body of her husband, cold due to passing in his sleep. We are still unsure of the cause of death, but we can say he passed away peacefully next to his wife. Within days, his younger sister from California flew out to Texas to comprehend what had happened and to assist with the funeral arrangements.

Like many older Cambodian folks of their generation, Sarom Bun and his wife did not prepare for his passing. As a family, we are pulling together to prepare for the financial responsibility. Still, as the numbers add up, we are reaching out to family and friends to assist us with a blessing/donation in any amount possible.

We want to thank you for your love, energy, kind words, and support ahead of time for assisting us in these challenging times as we are trying to piece together finances by this coming Friday viewing and Saturdays funeral. Again, many thanks and god bless to you and your families during this Holiday season.

Sarom Bun is a survivor of the Killing Fields of Cambodia and is the primary reason why most of our family made it safely out of the war torn country of Cambodia and sponsored to America as refugees. He is the 7th oldest of 10 siblings, out of 3 sisters and 7 brothers. He has left behind his wife, 2 daughters, and has helped raise nearly every one of his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren being there as the father to most. He worked his years as a janitor at Ted Polk Middle School in Carrollton Texas. After retirement, he became a volunteer at Cambodian Buddist Temple assisting the monks and fixing and painting the Cultural structures day after day. A fun-loving, very independent soul, funny and energeic at the same time, a savior to his entire family, hard working, and giving individual that will be missed by all that he came into contact with. He passed at the age of 76.

After retirement, he dedicated himself to the Cambodian Buddist Temple in Dallas, Texas, restoring statues and assisting the monks.
