DDRC Replacement Jump Fund
Donation protected
Dacorum & District Riding Club are a local non-profit horse show based in Hertfordshire.
We are where most riders begin their showing or show jumping careers, the bottom of the ladder so to speak. From us they can then progress up to county level showing/jumping and so on.
Or for those less serious about their showing/jumping we are just a bit of fun for local competitors.
As we are a non-profit organisation all of our committee members and helpers are volunteers and as you can imagine it's difficult these days to find people willing to give up their time for free. This job isn't easy and takes away around 5 weekends of their summer plus all the time and effort that goes on behind the scenes.
Every year we hear that more local shows just like us are ceasing to run for various reasons such as lack of help, financial problems or loss of fields etc. In 2018 alone 2 shows within 30 minutes of us have closed their rings and hung up their boots for good.
We do not want to see this happen to our show.
Any profit that DDRC make is reinvested back into the club so we can continue to make improvements and better our show. As you can probably guess we don't have a large pot of money stashed away to outlay at the drop of a hat.
The reason for our Go Fund Me campaign is because on the 11th of September 2018, in the early hours of the morning, someone stole all of the jumps that belong to our club.
We have been hoping and praying they would be returned to us or found but as time goes on this chance gets smaller and smaller.
Show jumps are pretty expensive and this is a huge loss to the club with a substantial financial impact for us.
With no jumps the show ceases to exist.
If we aren't able to raise funds to help towards replacing these jumps, we face a very difficult decision as to whether we can continue to hold these shows.
If we do not manage to raise enough money to cover the new (second hand) jumps required we risk having to up our prices to help recover costs.
The support we have received via Facebook has been overwhelming. Please share this fund raiser as much as you can to help us a little more.
We thank you in advance for as much or as little money as you can afford to donate to us.
If you would like to donate jumps or anything else to us that you think might help please contact us via our Facebook page to discuss further.
Thank you, from all of us at DDRC.
