Baby Zayne was taken to the hospital ten days ago. Mom (Sheriffs department employee) and dad (EMT) are staying by his side while doctors try and help them figure out what is going on with their little fighter. Unbeknownst they are currently in between insurances so you can imagine the stress that will come between their sons condition, medical bills, missed work hours and many more things in life that they have ahead of them. Anything helps and most importantly continue to pray for their tough little guy as he fights on ❤️
here is an update from mom...
Currently my 2 1/2 year old son Zayne is at Valley Children’s Hospital We’ve been here for 10 days and 5 of which he was in the PICU.
He has E. Coli HUS, shinga toxin, symptomatic anemia, Infectious colitis, gastrointeritis and a lot of gas which is making his stomach enlarged and pressing up on his diaphragm making it harder to breathe. He is also retaining water and has fluid in his left lung.
They did a blood transfusion last night again so this makes it #3 because his labs have worsened. He may also need dialysis in the near future if his kidneys continue to get worse and if he quits urinating .
They are giving him more of the Diuretics to get him to pee out the fluids that are retaining in his body and in his lungs.
The surgeon said he doesn’t need surgery yet but if he does he will need a platelet transfusions first. They put a tube in his nose to his stomach and try to decompress his stomach.
He would only need surgery if his belly doesn’t go down or hardens or he becomes unable to be calm and sleep like he’s doing now.
