De la Cruz Family Assistance

The de la Cruz family has been struggling with their health for six years and does their best to remain as independent as possible however the most recent diagnosis has made that impossible.
The oldest child, Julian (14 yrs old) has been diagnosed with POTS syndrome and dysautonomia, two debilitating diagnosis that prevent him from living a normal teenage boy life. Gabby (11 yrs old) has been dealing with Anaphylaxis allergies that are triggered by the smallest things like mosquito and ant bites. Her allergy to insects are so bad that two ant bites could kill her. Gabby has learned to live with her diagnosis however bug bites are inevitable in the great state of Texas therefore the emergency rooms have become a frequent trip for her. Lehla (8 yrs old) was born not only with a heart murmur but also with her main artery on the outside of heart. Both of these diagnosis’s combined has lead to her having trouble fighting illnesses like the common cold off. Lehla is currently in need of a surgery to correct her artery defect. With so many medical conditions, all three children are homeschooled. A task that their mother, Bianca, usually oversees. However, Bianca’s most recent diagnosis has prevented her from doing so.
Bianca’s health struggles began with breast cancer in 2014 which resulted in a double mastectomy. Complications followed, with Bianca's body rejecting the implants which resulted in another very intense surgery (DIEP Flap). Since then she has had a consistent flow of medical issues ranging from complications from the DIEP flap to a tumor in her throat. Most recently she has been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocite Leukemia and on April 14, her husband found her face down unresponsive in the front yard. He quickly took her to Seton Northwest where they discovered she was having seizures, due to the severity of these seizures she was transported by ambulance to Seton main where she remained in ICU for several days. Upon returning home from the hospital, a week in she fell and was unable to move her legs, due to this she has been in and out of the hospital for the past 4 weeks along with numerous doctors appointments. Since her release she requires 24 hour around the clock care since she is still having seizures and does not have full function of her legs. Her husband is her primary caretaker. Her mother Sylvia is there as much as possible to help and her mother in Law Marire also fills in on the days she is able. Her kids tend to rotate weekends at aunts and uncles houses to get a sense of “normal” kid time.
Anthony, Bianca’s husband, provides Bianca with that care as well as, works, oversees the kids homeschooling and maintains the household, the care B needs are the daily tasks you and I take for granted showering, walking, brushing her hair even using the bathroom (she is currently using a bedside toilet) The stress of all of this has caused Anthony to develop heart issues that he is trying to keep under control with medications. In order to help care for his family, Anthony has missed a lot of work, putting the family's main source of income in jeopardy, insurance has begun denying doctors’ visits, procedures and essential medications. What ever was in their savings has been used.
Extended family tries to help as much as they can, but it isn’t enough. So as a last resort, we are asking for help from the community. Bianca has most of her medical supplies but needs a new wheelchair and a detachable shower head to make things a little easier for her husband – donations are appreciated. Any help would be a blessing to this family.
This family has been through so much over the years it's sometimes unbelievable. Yet they always find a way to keep a smile on their face and hope in their hearts.
