The Unexpected Passing of Special Agent Daniel Mui

Donation protected
In loving memory of DEA Special Agent Daniel Mui, we come together to support his grieving family during this incredibly difficult time. Daniel, who dedicated himself to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in 2019 and served valiantly in the New York Division, was more than a colleague; he was a beloved son, a cherished friend, and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Before his service with the DEA, Daniel selflessly served as both a Baltimore Police Officer and a United States Park Police Officer. His commitment to public service was unwavering, reflecting his deep sense of duty and honor. Daniel recently received the “John W. Maltz Leadership Award” and the “Investigator of the Year” award. He was also selected for an overseas assignment in Asia, the Beijing Country Office, where he was scheduled to report in May of 2024.

Tragically, Daniel's unexpected departure has left a void that cannot be filled. His elderly parents, Tze Ngong Mui (75) and Sui Ling Mui (68), find themselves grappling with the emotional and financial challenges that accompany such a profound loss. In their time of need, we extend our hands and hearts to offer the support they deserve.

All funds raised through this campaign will go directly to Daniel's grieving family, alleviating the financial burdens they now face. We hope to provide them with some comfort during this unimaginably challenging period.

Daniel's love for his family, friends, and his role as a DEA Special Agent was evident in every aspect of his life. His thoughtfulness, strong will, and inquisitive nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His infectious smile brightened even the darkest days.

Beyond his professional duties, Daniel found joy in coaching a girls' basketball team (the Two Bridges Elites) and competing in the Asian Basketball Competition in NYC Chinatown every summer. He was a pillar of support for his friends, always ready to lend a listening ear and offer valuable advice. Daniel's dream was to leave an indelible imprint on the world, and in the hearts of those who knew him, he undoubtedly achieved that goal.

As we mourn the loss of Daniel Mui—a devoted son, a true friend, a beloved nephew, a respected colleague, and a dedicated coach—we ask for your compassionate support. Let us join hands to honor his memory and provide solace to his family during this challenging time. Your generosity will not only ease the financial strain but also serve as a testament to the love and unity that exists within our community.
