Deaf Ally: Communication Accessible Masks

Your donation will benefit the Deaf Community by providing the funding so that we can donate communication accessible masks. 

This initiative began when I realized the hardships the Deaf community is facing during the pandemic. Face masks create a communication barrier, and make it difficult for those who need to see others' facial expressions and lips. This additional barrier can make those in the Deaf community feel even more isolated and can increase any feelings of sadness or loneliness. The masks we purchase will help eliminate that barrier, but they are costly to make and/or purchase. 

The fundraising will continue and we hope to have enough masks before the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. As one of the goals is to donate masks to the Sunshine Cottage School, a school for the Deaf here in San Antonio, TX.
