Our precious angel was diagnosed with a birth defect called Anencephaly on March 14, 2023. We were stuck between a wall and a hard rock, despite the hard pill we would have to swallow, we didn’t have the money up front nor did either one of us believe in abortion. Since our baby was healthy, had good organs, and an amazing heart beat that would warm your heart, our insurance wasn’t going to cover the cost of termination! Later that day we sat by the beach, thought long and hard and decided to carry the pregnancy to full term wishing and praying for a miracle. This journey was a bit rough but we managed to think optimistic. On May 28, 2023 we were honored to find out that our precious little angel was a babygirl! Throughout the last two months of the pregnancy we have been trying to prepare ourselves while keeping our faith and wishing to just hold our sweet angel! On September 13, 2023 @ 11:02 am we welcomed our perfect baby girl Dealanie Zhyne into this world. Expecting the unknown we cherished every second we were afforded. Then came the moment, September 14, 2023 @ 07:39am our perfect little angel was called home by our gracious Lord were she had received her guardian angel wings. Although we will never get over her passing, we are having faith by keeping her legacy going.

My family and I have decided to build a memorial fountain in front of our house to remind us everyday that our precious babygirl will ALWAYS be with us. We also would like to start a nonprofit organization as that helps, supports, and gives back to those families that one day might find themselves in our shoes. No one should ever have to go through the heart break that we have been through, but I’ll always remind everyone that they are not alone in this journey. We are on borrowed time in which we can’t get more nor get back, so you shouldn’t waste what you are afforded! Count your wins even if they are little and never forget that the Little things MATTER the Most!

Many people have never heard of Anencephaly. Anencephaly is a defect in the baby’s neural tube during development. The baby is born with an underdeveloped brain and incomplete skull. Most times, the brain is exposed at birth due to this condition. Baby’s with anencephaly are often born stillborn; however, those baby’s that are born alive often pass away within seconds, minutes or maybe hours. There is no surgery or medical procedure that can help cure or prevent Anencephaly as of today.
