Dean Knox- Harlem Valley Rail Trail Bench Memorial

Donation protected
My mom and I lost the biggest part of our family on April 18th, 2021.  Saying he was the best person is an understatement.  There are not enough words to explain how wonderful of a person he truly was.  Son, Husband, Father, and Grandpa are just a few of the titles he held. Friend, Hard Worker, Compassionate, Kind, Loyal, Honest, Strong and Funny were a few others.

Family always came first for my dad. He was so proud of us all. He loved my mom, his best friend, with every part of his soul.  He always supported my goals and was my #1 supporter along side my mom.  My husband, Eric, was like a son to him and had treated him as such since he was 16 years old. His grandson, Bodie, was pure joy for him and he enjoyed every second he got to spend with him.

My dad was an engineer for the Columbia County Department of Public Works for 42 years.  My dad loved his work- bridges and roads were his thing. He could talk on and on about a project he was involved in for work. You could see his passion through every bridge and road project he helped design.

With the donations we receive we would like to have a bench placed, in my dad's name, on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. If you knew my dad, you knew how much he supported the local rail trail. The bench would be placed near the new bridge that is being built over State Route 22. This bridge will connect the east and west sides of the Harlem Valley Rail Trail between Orphan Farm Road and Black Grocery Road in Copake, NY. Construction will begin later this year. Past the family photos is a photo of what the bridge that they will begin constructing later this year will look like.

If we exceed our goal, we would like to put up multiple benches along various spots on the rail trail.  Any additional funds raised over the cost of the benches will be donated to Covid relief.
