Dean Long's Care Team

Dr. Shawn Long is the proud and fearless Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kennesaw State University.  Most of us know him as an extraordinarily positive,  lighthearted, energetic and seemingly very healthy individual, so it was a shock to all of us when it was announced that Shawn has lung cancer. 

Shawn is a very upbeat leader with a passion for the work and a dynamite vision.  We are devastated that this disease will deter his momentum but we are optimistic that he will pull through with the same relentless positivity and drive that he comes to work with everyday . This gofundme is being established ONLY to fund our efforts to keep Shawn uplifted while he is in the hospital and throughout the time that he will be receiving treatments.  

This fund was set-up in part because there was such an overwhelming response from members of the KSU family asking how they can help during this trying time.  This fund will be used to purchase flowers, cards, meals, uplifting gifts and care items for Shawn, from all of us - over the next several months.  Please contribute any amount that you'd like.  Even a $5 donation will be so appreciated. Please feel free to also enclose a note in the comments section.  We plan to compile these heartfelt notes and share them with Shawn. He will be so touched to know that we are all thinking of him and cheering him on during this time.

Shawn is a member of our KSU family and this is an effort to show him our love and relentless support while he does the hard work to fight for his life.
