It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic and unexpected passing of Dean Visser, a remarkable young man who brought joy and inspiration to everyone who knew him. Dean was not only a dedicated athlete, excelling in lacrosse, but also a lover of the great outdoors. His passions for camping and dirt biking brought him closer to nature and to those he cherished most – his friends and family.

Dean's zest for life and his adventurous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a beacon of strength, kindness, and enthusiasm, always ready to take on new challenges and make the most of every moment.

In honor of Dean's memory, we are raising funds to support the Visser family. Your contribution will help us celebrate Dean’s life and continue his legacy of passion, adventure, and kindness.

The goal of this fundraiser is to generate enough funds in the near term to provide long term financial stability for the family to make it through the months to come.

More specifically, the funds raised by this initiative will be used to offset:

• Funeral expenses

• Regular life expenses which will allow the family time to grieve, seek counseling and move forward.

• Future life expenses that support family function, counseling and support.

The Visser family has deep roots in the local school, church, and Calgary community. They have blessed countless people with their kindness and constant willingness to help in times of need. We know many people have reached out with how they can help, and this tool will enable many contributions to reduce the financial burden of losing Dean.

It is now time for our community to wrap our arms around this family and hold them tight by providing significant financial stability as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.

In addition, this fundraiser has been setup after consulting with the Visser family. All funds raised will be directly accessed by them and no one else. Approximately 97% of each dollar raised will go to the family, with the remaining 3% is used by the Go Fund Me platform to maintain their operation. Each donor also can select an optional “tip” in support of the Go Fund Me platform at the time of donation.
