In Memory of Deanna Esmaeel

On October 12, 2023 our mother’s life was cut short by a horrific act of domestic violence. The manner in which she left this earth is something that no family should ever have to endure.
Our mom moved to Crescent City, Ca in 2021 to make a difference in people’s lives. She had previously lost her daughter (and our sister) in 2017 to addiction and wanted to do all she could to make sure no other Mother would ever have to experience the loss that she did. At the age of 65, she became a Deputy Sheriff. People thought she was crazy or too old but she didn’t care. She had a goal and nothing was going to stop her from achieving it. She was always a go-getter and accomplished many things in life. From owning an equestrian center to horse riding in the Olympics to a career in film as a cinematographer and animal trainer. She was never afraid of a challenge and always welcomed the opportunity to be a trailblazer. At the age most people were retiring she was embracing a new career in law enforcement. Sadly, she was not able to accomplish all that she set out to when her life was tragically and reprehensibly cut short. Our final wishes for our mom is to provide her with a beautiful service to honor her legacy and allow her to rest forever at peace with our sister.
Any donations provided will go to cover the costs associated with the services and burial and anything remaining will be donated to domestic violence survivors.
My brother and I thank you so much for your generosity, thoughts and prayers in this most difficult time.
