DeAnna Pursai grew up very close to her sister Angel, who has Down syndrome. But as they grew and DeAnna went off to college, she realized there was no place in the world for Angel to continue growing academically and creatively. So, in 2009, she co-founded the College of Adaptive Arts, a non-profit located on the grounds of a community college that provides a collegiate experience for adults with special needs of any age. They offer 80 classes and have taught 350 students since their founding.
