Dean Clayton Amputation Recovery
Donation protected
Our beloved Daryl "Dean" Clayton, a kind-hearted resident of Tucson, Arizona, and a man with a deep passion for the peace and joy of bass fishing, has recently faced a series of devastating health challenges.
What began with a doctor's needle for a frozen shoulder in August tragically led to a severe sepsis infection. Within a mere 36 hours, the sepsis had spread to both shoulders and his left foot.
While multiple surgeries healed his shoulders, Dean's left foot continued to struggle. Despite seeking help from several specialists, his history of sepsis and osteomyelitis complicated his case, leaving him without the necessary intervention.
By December, the infection in his foot had returned with a vengeance, leading to another hospitalization and a grueling 12 weeks of IV antibiotics via a PICC line.
Just days after completing the antibiotic treatment, the relentless infection returned, leaving doctors with the heartbreaking decision that amputation was the only way to save Dean's life.
Following the initial amputation of his left foot, a second surgery was necessary to remove more of his leg below the knee, ensuring a better fit for a future prosthetic.
Despite these immense challenges, Dean's spirit remains strong, and he is determined to regain his independence and eventually return to the simple pleasure of a day on the water.
Throughout the past two decades, Dean has been blessed to share his life with his loving partner, Patti Brown.
Patti has become his dedicated full-time caregiver, putting her own work and income on hold to be by his side. This complete shift in their lives has created significant financial strain.
We are reaching out to our friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals in the community to ask for your help. Your generous contributions will go directly towards covering Dean's mounting medical expenses, ensuring he receives the best possible care and support during his recovery.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in Dean and Patti's lives, allowing them to focus on healing and rebuilding together.
Let's rally together to help Dean get back on his "feet" – and eventually back on the water! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion and generosity.
