My name is Tesfaye Bayu, I know Tayyee Dandea family. They are in need of family support. I am living in Australia, I will follow the guideline of godundme as responsible person.

One of the tragic legacy of the current political environment that might leave us with severe historical and generational wound is the way our political interests are eroding the social fabrics that bound us with a superior yarn we call Oromo tradition and culture (saafu).

What happened most recently to Adde Sintayehu Alemayehu and her two young children is a perfect example to this sad tragedy.

As you might know, Addee Sintayehu is the wife of Obbo Taye Danda’aa, and when her husband was arrested and taken away by authorities, almost instantly she was told to collect her children and leave her residence immediately. The people who made this decision didn’t wait for the legal aspect of his detention, didn’t even wait until Obbo Taye saw a judge or his lawyers when they sent the order to the housing authority to dump Adde Sintayehu and her two young boys out to the streets.

One day the kids were in their warm bed going to school with their friends , doing their homework and have fun as kids do and the next day they are out in the street with nowhere to go. In addition to that the authorities froze her bank account so she couldn’t even afford a loaf of bread to her boys.

What happened between Obbo Taye and the government might not be the interest to all of us in unity, however, what happened to Adde Sintayehiu and her two boys should be as this transcends all norms and basic human decency.

The organizers of this fundraising kindly ask all of you to think about what happed to these children and oppose the idea of political retributions going down to family members, especially children.

We ask you to come together and make a statement by donating what you can to help Adde Sintayehiu feed and shelter her two children.

We assure you 100% of the proceeds from this fundraising will go to Adde Sintayehu.
