Melanoma and Lung Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Dea, I am 75 years old, a mother of 3, grandmother to 4, great-grandmother of 1, and a loving surrogate to many others to include all of my little four legged friends. Last year I moved in with my oldest daughter in Washington to escape a hostile living environment in Oklahoma. When I left Oklahoma, I had to leave my house, my car, and many of my valuables so that I may build a new, and hopefully less hostile, life in Washington. At the beginning of 2016 I was diagnosed with Melanoma on my scalp and lung cancer. My doctor advised that we tend to the melanoma first and scheduled me for removal and treatment in March. Because I do not have a car, my wonderful daughter has graciously been driving me to and from all of my appointments. As such, she has missed an exponential amount of days at work. After completion of chemotherapy my doctor identified some spots on my scalp that they "missed" during my first surgery. I am now told that I must go back to have these spots removed, and after I heal from that, I must go back and deal with whatever they have planned for my life regarding my lung cancer. While I do have insurance, I still have co-pays and over time these co-pays have become this insurmountable bill which I can not hope to pay off via my meager retirement. This of course does not even account for the thousands of dollars my daughter has sacraficed in missing work, or the $20 it costs every time we must take the ferry round-trip to Seattle for all of my appointments. My goal is to be a proud survivor of cancer who can enjoy the extra years granted me without the hovering presence of bill collectors on a debt I can't feasibly pay on my own. Any and all donations are most welcome, every little bit counts. My sincerest gratitude to all who help spiritually or monetarily see me through this difficult time. Have a blessed day.
