MISSION
Death & Pretzels is a Chicago based theater company dedicated to exploring oddity, antiquity and ensemble built experiences. We work to bring long-forgotten, oft-neglected or out-of-thebox theater pieces to the stage again, or for the very first time.
HISTORY
D&P was born in April of 2014 when a group of artists came together to collaborate on a production of S. Ansky's The Dybbuk. Thanks to a dedicated group of actors and technicians, D&P successfully completed their first season in Chicago and is about to embark on their second. Current D&P company members include Madison Smith (Artistic Director), Nick Strauss (Production Manager/Ensemble Member), Jordan Weed (Stage Manager) and Matt Orenstein (Sound Designer).
Death & Pretzels productions are funded by the generous donations of our patrons. Without you, we'd have no one to perform for, and nothing to perform. If you're familiar with our work and would like to see more of it in the future, or if you're interested in helping to support store front theater in the Chicagoland area, please consider donating to Death & Pretzels.
In August we closed our fall production, Jim Leonard's ANATOMY OF GRAY, and now we're back to the drawing board for our spring production- we're narrowing down titles, and hope to have a selection soon! Check us out at deathandpretzels.com for more details.
