Deathless Food Truck - a vegan street food truck

VEGAN FOOD F*CKING SUCKS (BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO)
To our vegan friends: how many times have you gone out with friends and regretfully ordered the only vegan item off of the menu only to be met with bland, mediocre, freezer food because nobody f*cking cared to put any passion into the vegan options.
To our friends that aren’t vegan: how convinced are you that vegan food is all nuts and seeds, uninteresting and gross?

Deathless is a vegan street food truck bringing fusion food to the streets of Savannah, GA.

NO MORE f*cking uninteresting, under seasoned, lifeless, sh*tty vegan food. We’re done with going out and paying for frozen section foods. We’re taking sh*t back. We’re talking bold flavors, food you’ve never had this way before, and everything done intentional as f*ck.

VEGAN FUSION STREET FOOD
What does that even mean?

Vegan: without animal products(meats, cheeses, dairy, even processed without using animal products)

Fusion: food that combines elements of different cultural traditions, techniques, and/or ingredients(kimchi + tacos)

Street Food: street food isn't necessarily the food you make a reservation for. It’s often the food outside, in the alley, off the curb, on a cart, that crowds show out for. It’s full of cultural expression and history (banh mi, tacos, arepas, gyros, elote, poutine)

For Deathless this means fun, exciting, and creative vegan food. Peep the sample menu by clicking this link: Sample Menu

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
“I was very impressed by this food. Seriously, I didn't know that vegan food could be done so well. The seasoning was spot on”

“I’ve never experienced vegan food in such an unique way”

“THE SAUCE!”

“As a non vegan, after trying the food, I would choose this truck over most other food trucks any day.”

“You made being vegan tasty. Tasty is cool. Way to make being vegan cool.”

DEATHLESS
Though we’ve been dreaming of starting our own project for a grip, the idea of Deathless came along in 2020. We got excited by the idea of vegan street food and what that could become. We could showcase the ingredients and dishes from around the world that we fell in love with, and be as whacky and creative as we felt led.

Not only could we do some cool stuff with the menu, but we could use our food truck to really make a difference in our community. We could partner with agencies and nonprofits doing good work in the community, we could hyper focus on sustainability in hopes to undo some of the damage we’ve witnessed in the food service industry (more on that later), and we could physically meet the needs of others by providing good meals for those in need around us, as well as be a safe spot for the community to come together to hang and feel loved.

Deathless embodies who we are, our experiences, and the things that we value. We are partnering our love of travel, the cultures we fell in love with, our experience as cooks, and our lifestyle as vegans to provide a really great product. We want the brand to be straight up and real, no curtains, shortcuts, or shady sh*t going on. We really just want to be true to who we are: grungy and real, approachable and welcoming, with a real f*cking attitude about things that matter.

WHO WE ARE
We’re Logan and Gretchen Needy. We met back in 2016 and got married six months later. Gretchen was just returning home to Portland, Oregon from traveling abroad for a year, and Logan was working for a nonprofit in Southeast Asia. Since then we have traveled all over Europe, lived on both coasts, and made two kiddos - Royal(pictured) and Jubilee. If you’re into traveling and culture, skating, hip-hop, hardcore/punk, just hanging out, or dope vegan food - then you’re our people.

The food service industry has been our second home since we started working. We've worked in: cafes, bistros, pubs, tapas bars, fine dining restaurants, breakfast and brunch, coffee, pizza, sandwich shops - you name it. We're those crazy lifers that'll die happy working in food service if it means doing what we love, being true to ourselves, and getting to partake in making a positive influence in our community.

Being in the food service industry on and off since 2008, we’ve seen a lot of sh*t. The biggest pill for us to swallow is the amount of waste and trash that’s often associated with restaurants both big and small. We want to address that.

We’re searching for the most sustainable ways to do what we do. Here’s what we’re thinking:
Sustainably and ethically sourcing ingredients as local as possible
Finding creative solutions to minimize waste
Recycling bins at Deathless at all times, both in the kitchen and on the street.
Providing high quality, user-friendly, recyclable/compostable/biodegradable utensils, containers, etc.
Cigarette Recycling Program via Terracycle (www.terracycle.com)
Partnering with local nonprofits, agencies, and organizations to help take better care of Savannah(and surrounding areas) environmentally
Being transparent and open to feedback and innovation from our peers and community

We’re humbly and excitedly raising $60,000 through GoFundMe to start a vegan food truck that brings fusion street food to Savannah, GA. The $60,000 from this campaign along with private investments and our personal finances will cover a brand new 20 foot custom food trailer equipped with brand new equipment, a pickup truck to pull the trailer, small wares, marketing and advertising, inspections, licensing and permits, etc. as well as the taxes, credit card fees, and GoFundMe fees for the project.

We've been dreaming this up for over a decade now, and it’s f*cking unreal that we're presenting this to you today.

No matter who you are, we believe Deathless is for you. Whether you’re vegan and looking for more options, you’ve never had a vegan meal in your life, or you’re just looking for something new and different - we’re confident that you’ll walk away f*cking stoked on plants.

We’re grateful for you vibin with us this far - and for every encouraging word, gift, and helping hand. We’ve got a real sick community behind us; supporting us and propelling us. Thanks for being here with us in this. We hope you stay for and enjoy the ride with us. We’re stoked for this journey we’re on and can’t wait to shove food in your face.
