Deaven Garth Butler, born on May 24, 1956, in Sioux City, IA, USA, lived a life that was a true testament to the power of love, creativity, and perseverance. Known for his creative genius and loving personality, Deaven crafted a beautiful, impactful life that touched many. As Mark Twain wisely said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." Deaven certainly lived by this, constantly pushing the boundaries of his creativity as a talented graphic artist. Deaven moved to Oklahoma 46 years ago to work for Kenneth Hagin Ministries as a graphic artist, designing book covers and cover and layout design for The Word of Faith publication. In 1987, he started his own business, working with multiple ministries, touching people around the world with his anointed artwork and publication abilities. Not only did he excel in his career, but also took joy in his hobbies. His smart mind and talented hands found solace in the intricate world of model trains and the exhilarating passion for classic cars. However, what mattered most to Deaven was his family. His love story with his beloved wife, Linda Butler, began August 12, 1978, and it remained a beautiful testament of devotion and commitment until his final day. The love they shared was passed down to their children, April Mary and Garth Bjorklund, and further reflected in the smiles of his grandchildren, Lilliana Mary, Magnus Bjorklund and Avalynn Bjorklund. He was a loving Papas to all of them. Deaven is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his children, April and Josh Mary, Garth and Asher Bjorklund; his grandchildren, Lilliana Mary, Magnus Bjorklund, and Avalynn Bjorklund; his mother, Lorna Butler; and his siblings, Danette Livingston, Dann Bjorklund, Dean Butler, DeeAnn Butler, and Dwayne Butler. Deaven was preceded in death by his father, Russell Butler. As we remember Deaven, let's honor his life by incorporating his values of love, creativity, and dedication into our own lives. "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years," as Abraham Lincoln once said. Please join us in offering prayers for, and remembering Deaven’s life, at the Legacy Chapel at Woodland Memorial Park, 1200 N. Cleveland Ave, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 74063, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. CST. We encourage you to share your favorite memories and upload photos of Deaven to his memorial page.
