Hello, my name is Deborah Bennett. In . I was a teacher for over 20 years and loved what I did to help kids. It was my dream job. In September 2021, my life changed. I️ contracted Covid-19 and ended up in a near-tragic situation. I️ had a heart attack, pneumonia in both lungs with one collapsing, and sepsis. Well, a year later, and things are still not normal. I️ now have a list of health conditions that didn’t exist pre-covid.  My husband works day in and day out to support the family. He has everything under control as far as the home, but medical expenses have begun to build up. I️ am constantly trying to get my life back, and the more I️ try the more I’m pushed back and end up at the hospital. I️ am faced with my current new normal. There is a thing called long covid. I️ live with the effects every day - heart, spine, and lung damage.

I used to always support people when they needed help, but I️ never thought I’d need help. My medical equipment comes with a hefty monthly charge. I️ pay over $150 per month for my medication - I take 12 pills daily, and I need procedures done.

We’ve tried to handle everything on our own, but sometimes you have to swallow pride. This is hard for me, but if you have it to give then give. It will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
