Debbie Gallegos Vockel Memorial

This GoFundMe page is to help cover funeral and residual expenses for Debbie 'Gallegos' Vockel who unexpectedly passed away Saturday morning, December 22nd.  Debbie leaves behind a daughter, son, and five grandchildren.  We remember Debbie as a fun-loving and kind human being, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.  While she’s always been known to cheer and lift the spirits of others, Debbie experienced many challenges of her own throughout her lifetime.  She was hospitalized and monitored throughout her middle school years with a rare blood disorder, then again as a young adult after a terrible motorcycle accident sent her back to the hospital with multiple severe injuries. The second hospitalization, though serious, resulted in Debbie finding the love of her life, a dear friend who stood by her side untiringly throughout her surgeries and recuperation.  Debbie and Greg were married shortly after and were blessed with two beautiful children.  Their happily ever after was tragically cut short when Greg developed a brain tumor early on in their marriage and Debbie was again faced with seemingly insurmountable odds, medical bills, and the loss of her partner and best friend.  As if not enough, their young son developed significant health issues that followed him into his adult life resulting in multiple hospitalizations due to severe seizures; all the while Debbie remained by his side.   Most recently she brought her son’s daughter and two siblings to live with Debbie’s daughter who has three boys and a daughter of her own.

Debbie was working multiple jobs (long hours through the night at UPS and 7-11, sleeping a few hours, then doing odd jobs like painting and cleaning houses during the day while still managing to spend time with family) to help support and lovingly raise her grandchildren until her untimely and unexpected death.  

Due to these circumstances Debbie was not able to save the money she earned and her family is left with a great burden at the sudden loss of their beloved mother and grandmother who played such an integral part in all of their lives.  The purpose of this GoFundMe page is to obtain the funds necessary to pay for Debbie’s cremation, funeral, and burial expenses and to help support her recently expanded family.  Please be generous as your donation will go directly to help in these necessary expenses for an amazing woman who suffered much throughout her life yet persevered with grace, hope, and love.
