Debbie In Her Battle Against Brest Cancer
Donation protected
Hello all!
Most, if not all, of you know me but I’m Debbie Dundee’s daughter Abbie. In mid-May my mother found a lump on her breast and went to the doctors for a mammogram. On May 18th my mom was then told that she “more than likely” had cancer. Boy did that throw a wrench in our year! Days later she went for a biopsy of her breast and lymph node. We then all shed a TON of tears but by May 24th we heard for certain: it’s cancer.
Plus side, no cancer of the lymph nodes only in the boob! After tests they found that it was not genetic, lucky me, but that it is the HER2 gene. It is more aggressive than most so based on that the doctors have her stage as 2B.
Today, July 7th was her first chemo treatment. She is doing well physically and mentally right now, and that’s all that really matters.
Now we all know how terrible these gas prices are, and my parents live in rural Iowa! They have been making weekly, and this week daily, trips too and from the hospital. My mother also has not been able to work full time due to doctors visits. Next she will be too ill to make it in a few weeks.
We are a proud family and so this is hard but sometimes you have to try… Any money raised will go directly to my parents savings to help pay for fuel, mostly, but also any other expenses that may pop up. If you can’t donate, we understand fully but please give this a share! Every single one of you know how much of a saint (LOL!) my mother is. She is the strongest and kindest person I know! Anything to help her sleep would be awesome.. she’s starting to drive Leroy nuts.
