Debbie McCulley Car accident recovery

Debbie is a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. On Wednesday, January 23rd 2019, she was in a car accident that will heavily impact her and her family for the next 6 months to a year. She is currently at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital suffering from debilitating injuries. On her left side, she has broken 8 ribs and suffers from a collapsed lung. She has suffered severe injuries to her back. Her sacrum and pelvis are broken, anterior and posterior. The majority of her transverse bones coming off her spine are shattered. The biggest injury is to her L2 vertebrae which is shattered. She is having spine surgery to build a cage around her spinal cord and rebuild the L2 vertebrae. This is only the first of many surgeries that will be needed. She will likely be in the hospital for several weeks and months of rehab after. Shes in a lot of pain from the massive amount of broken bones. She is unbelievably strong willed and we have no doubt she will recover from the injuries. Debbie has always put others needs before her own. She is the kind of person you call in a pinch who would drop everything to come and help you. Over the short term she will be unable to do many things we take for granted: work, look after and care for her daughter, cook, clean or look after herself. The family will have medical bills, medication costs and medical insurance deductibles to pay for. Her vehicle is totaled so they will need to pay deductibles and plan to purchase a new vehicle.
