Debbie McQueen's Fight against Cancer

Hi everyone..I am writing this story for my sweet cousin who is like a sister to me.Debbie was diagnosed initially with uterine cancer in June of 2020. She underwent treatments including chemo and radiation and was given a clean bill of health. She went back to work doing what she loved,seeing all her customers at our hometown Walmart.

Fast forward to December of 2021 she began having kidney issues, massive kidney stones that would not pass without surgical assistance.

She is still awaiting reconstructive surgery and wearing a nephrostomy tube after multiple surgeries and hospital stays

. This has been a harrowing ordeal that she is continuing to suffer with.. During one of her hospital stays there was some concerning areas on one of her scans. After further tests, including a Pet Scan, Debbie was given the news that her cancer had returned. After meeting with doctors, the news was that her cancer was treatable but not curable. Her faith has remained strong, and we know who the Ultimate Healer is.

However, she has decided to seek a second opinion from MD Anderson. They have many treatment options that are not available in our area. To do this, it will require plane tickets , money for food and hotel rooms. Hoping to get some assistance through social services there once she has been established.

Currently, she cannot work, and her short-term disability that only covers her basic household bills will run out in October. So we are currently applying for disability but do not know how long this may take.
