Debbie Thompson's battle with cancer.

A little over a month ago Debbie went into the ER for the second time in a number of weeks. She was hoping to address one problem and found out she had something far more serious... Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma.
Now a little over a month later it's been a whirlwind of hospital visits and changing information. Debbie's cancer is very aggressive and is accompanied by a rare set of gene mutations called "a double hit" that complicates things. These genes can actually inhibit the chemo therapy from its usual effectiveness and also leave her spine and brain vulnerable to cancer as well. For this reason they started her on chemo therapy right away even as they continued to gather information. This chemo was around the clock for 5 days followed by a chemo injection in her spine. She will continue with this type of inpatient chemo for 6 sessions with some time at home in-between.
Moms first round of chemo was followed with extreme weakness, fatigue, nausea, confusion, discomfort and little to no desire to eat. She also learned of additional health issues not related to the cancer when some confusing complications put her back in the ER. She and John will hope to tackle these new health concerns, which may include the removal of her thyroid, once chemo is all done. Despite Debbies difficulties her white blood cell count has risen quickly and we are thankful to God she is feeling a lot better. Debbie will be returning for chemo round 2/6 tomorrow Dec 9th.
This Go Fund Me has been created to help Debbie and John with hospital bills and medical expenses over the next 4+ months as they cross over into a new year with a new insurance deductible they are not prepared to cover on a fixed retirement income. They also expect large bills due to the in-patient chemo and multiple ER stays already this year.
The future is unsure but we trust along with Debbie and John that the lord will provide for them now as He always has. Whatever is needed and in every way!
