Young Hearts Walk Free virtual walk for the BHF

Hi everyone! Myself, my niece Caitlin, aged 6, and my 2 nephews Ben aged 8 and Daniel aged 3, have signed up for the End to End, Lands End to John O'Groats (LEJOG6) 874 miles virtual walk/run starting 28/9/20, and we have a year to complete it.

This year has been an unbelievably tough one on our family, with the loss of 7 very much loved family members (just on the Campbell side), not to mention the added restrictions the current pandemic has inflicted on all of our lives, whereby for us personally, we've not been able to attend some funerals, especially that of my lovely Grandfather, and like so many we've not been able to comfort our relatives and grieve properly. I can openly say I have, and still am, battling constantly with my mental health. To try combat this we've signed up for this challenge in memory of the 7 family members we have sadly lost this last year:

❤ Adam - 2/9/19

❤ Uncle Dan - 28/10/19

❤ Uncle John - 30/1/20

❤ Aunt Pauline - 5/2/20

❤ Grandfather - 16/3/20

❤ Aunt Jo - 23/4/20

❤ Aunt Julia - 9/7/20

We have chosen the British Heart Foundation as it is a charity close to our hearts, Adam is my brother-in-law, husband of my sister Laura, and the children's Daddy, whose untimely, sudden death from a heart attack, at the age of 40, stunned and shocked us all, and turned their little lives upside down. They've also then had to deal with all the other family deaths, including their Great-Grandfather who passed away from the virus. We adults find all this loss hard to understand, so we can only imagine what is going through the minds of the children, who are trying to deal with their own huge loss of their funny, amazing, caring Daddy. When your 8yr old nephew is afraid to do sports, asking if his heart will stop working, it is heartbreaking to hear. By doing this challenge, we hope to alleviate those fears and engage in a healthy activity together, whilst raising money for charity in memory of their Daddy, and all those we've sadly lost. I'm sure we'll have lots of fun along the way too, no doubt they'll be laughing at me trying to keep up with them!

I know these 3 brilliant kids will do their amazing Mummy and Daddy, and all the family, really proud ❤, and I'm sure Adam will be with them, willing them on, every step of the way ❤.....he'd definitely be telling us to go faster!

All donations will be truly appreciated and we thank you in advance, from the bottom of our hearts, for any donations made to this worthy cause. The kids are motivated and eager to go, but all donations, and any words of encouragement for them, will motivate them, and myself, even further.

Thank you!

Debbie, Ben, Caitlin & Daniel
