Debbie's Day
Hi my name is Debbie Donovan. As some of you know my daughter Debbie Ott was involved in a bad bicycle accident on September 4th at the Manalapan Township Recreation Center. And I am looking to raise money to help her.
My daughter was riding her bicycle and a little girl was coming into my daughter's path by the basketball court from the opposite direction. Debbie moved out of the way to avoid colliding with the little girl. So she had gone onto the grass where there was a ground level support wall. My daughter's tire had got stuck on the bricks. Debbie flew over the handlebar and fell three feet down onto the blacktop roadway chin first. Debbie had to get immediate surgery for she had fractured her jaw in four different places, sustained severe damage to her teeth and her right eardrum. Her injuries were so bad she had to be transported to another hospital because they did not have the expertise or equipment to help my child. The surgeon had noted to my family that my child was very lucky that she was not dead or paralyzed.
Debbie will be needing additional surgery for her jaw and replacement of all of her teeth along with other necessary procedures to get her back to a normal lifestyle. All proceeds will be going to help reconstruct Debbie's jaw for she is needing additional surgery and other procedures along with having all teeth either removed, replaced, etc.
Debbie had just graduated from East Stroudsburg University and had a promising career all lined up. She is unable to eat normal foods, cannot talk for any long periods of time and is on mainly a liquid diet. Debbie is also unable to work. Now her dreams are shattered and needs help getting healthy. Funding is requested as quickly as possible. Full recovery after procedures are complete can take up to a year.
My poor child only wants to feel good and to eat normally like any other person. She is a loving, kind person and who has always been taught to do at least one good deed a day no matter how big or small. And if everyone followed the same philosophy, more than likely this world would be a much better place to live.
Help me to help her and show her that there are still kind and caring people out there willing to help each other. Whatever you can do to help my daughter would be greatly appreciated. God bless you and thank you so much.
