DeBerry Kidney Fund

Donation protected

For almost 10 years I’ve kept my struggles with kidney disease a closely guarded secret: sharing details only with family and a small number of friends. https://www.cleveland.com/opinion/2019/10/kidney-disease-has-made-me-fear-what-folks-will-assume-about-me.html

But now,  months into dialysis, I’ve reached a point where I need my community’s support, and I’m hoping you can help.

Although most people spend the better part of a decade waiting for a transplant, God willing, I’ll receive a kidney in December from my cousin Aisha.  She will need to travel to New Orleans and miss time from work. Your support will help offset some of the donor  expenses  beyond healthcare including lost of wages.

Also, as you can imagine, ten years of whopping medical bills has wrecked my family’s finances and depleted our savings. Our ask is not the total of our need. We just want to stabilize our current circumstances.  Your support will help us pay off some medical debt and relieve some financial worries as we start a new chapter in our lives.

Any funds raised beyond our ask will go into a "Jarvis DeBerry Fund fund that will remain in New Orleans for the next family facing economic challenges due to kidney disease.  We are committed to giving back to our community.

Thank you,

Jarvis DeBerry and Family

Please note, I can not accept donations from elected officials.

My wife has been handling most of the business affairs while I focus on getting healthy.
