Debi & Steve
Donation protected
As many of you may have heard about one week ago Steve suffered a major stroke after a date night with his wife Debi. As to be expected following a stroke of this magnitude Steve has been left with several deficits that he is working hard to overcome. Steve will need extensive rehab therapy before he will be safe or cleared to come home.
Debi while having spent all of her days at the hospital working with Steve, cheering him on and motivating him, updating family members and taking over their personal affairs, has been struggling with chronic pain in her right shoulder and was scheduled for a rotator cuff repair, just 2 short weeks after Steves' stroke. While this is not an uncommon procedure the rehabilitation following this type of care typically takes up to 6 months. Due to the nature of Debis' work, (taking care of her much beloved, although wild and crazy grandsons) she will be unable to return until the end of this 6 month time-period.
This has been a struggle for Debi, if you know her are well aware she is independent, hard-working and rarely asks for help for fear of being "a burden". She is positive, optimistic, often thinks of others, and always sees the best in everyone.
While this couple has family around to help with day-to-day tasks, we are asking for financial support during this difficult time to help cover the costs of rehabilitation, medical bills, medical transports, groceries and routine monthly expenses. This is an unprecedented crisis for this family and we are incredibly grateful for any, and all support and look forward to updating you all on their rehab journies.
