Scholarship in Memory of Deborah DiPaolo

Hello to all of you, who are friends, family and loved ones of the DiPaolo Family.

Deborah DiPaolo was diagnosed with cancer in July 2022, and lost her fight just 3 short, brutal months later in October 2022. She was 69 years old and left behind her two sons, Thomas and Richard, and her 2 grandchildren, Sophia and Thomas.

Although Deborah was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, her Tiger pride was fierce and unwavering. She was a vociferous advocate for the youth of Linden and spent the large majority of her adult life supporting Linden’s future stars. She was PTA president, a Linden PAL baseball coach, and worked for the Linden school system in various positions, including as a Cafeteria Assistant, a School Bus Driver and as administrative support staff. One of many of her shining moments was spearheading and winning the hard-fought battle to place a traffic light on St. George’s Avenue so that Linden High School students and faculty could cross back and forth to the VoTech building safely, without fear of being struck by oncoming traffic.

On behalf of the DiPaolo family, we would like to thank everyone who has offered their support over this past year as we continue the incredibly difficult journey of grief and healing. The outpouring of support that everyone has shown our family is truly amazing.

The pain of Deborah’s loss has been felt by many and the gracious faculty at Linden High School would like to honor her memory by awarding a college scholarship to a student at Linden High School who embodies a similar level of Linden pride and spirit.

The dollars raised through this fund will go directly to this scholarship and will be administered by the Linden faculty.

Your donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping Deborah continue her steadfast support of Linden, with the hope that every student can say they are proud to have been raised in Linden. The deadline for donations is May 19.
