Deborah Foley
Debbie was diagnosed with Progressive Bulbar Palsy (a form of Motor Neurone Disease) in April of last year.
She was first signed off from work in November 2021 with an initial diagnosis of stress.
Although not frontline National Health Service, Debbie was pivotal within her team in setting up care packages for vulnerable people leaving acute care.
The COVID-19 pandemic meant that working hours extended dramatically and the working week, became exactly that!
Her condition, progressively worsened over the last year.
She lost the power of speech, could not eat or drink and steadily lost function, in her limbs and extremities.
She lost her battle on the morning of Sunday 5th November 2023.
Michelle, Roy and I were at her bedside at the end.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by motor neurone disease in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
This is a worthy cause. Instead of floral tributes, please support the MND Association.
