Deborah's Family Needs Your Help Post-Fire

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

We are reaching out to you today with a heavy heart to share the story of a strong, resilient woman who needs our help. This is Deborah Clark, a proud veteran and single mother of four children, who has been hit hard by the aftermath of the Eaton Fire. While her home in Altadena was spared, the fire has left her family in an uncertain and challenging position.

Though the structure of their home remains standing, the risks of toxic air, contamination in the ground, and structural concerns have made it unsafe and temporarily unlivable. Deborah’s family is unable to go back, and as they await further testing and answers, it may take up to a year before they can safely move back into their home.

In the meantime, Deborah, her three children, and her elderly parents have been living in a cramped hotel room since January 8. Her father, who is elderly, and her mother, who suffers from late-stage Alzheimer’s, both rely on Deborah’s full-time care. As the sole provider for her family of seven, including her oldest daughter who is in college living off campus, Deborah has done everything she can to keep the family afloat. But with her job ending on January 31, she’s now in a desperate situation.

Deborah is without a steady income and is depending on our generosity to aid in the costs of food, temporary housing, and the essentials her family needs while insurance claims are processed and pending.

How You Can Help
Your donations will go directly toward:

• Temporary housing costs for Deborah and her family
• Food, toiletries, and other daily necessities
• Care for her elderly parents while she continues to provide for her children and care for her family

No amount is too small. Every dollar will make a difference in helping Deborah and her family regain a sense of stability and normalcy as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for your generosity, your kindness, and your support. Deborah is a fighter, and with your help, we can make sure she and her family don’t face this journey alone.

Warmly,
Cat Mandelin & Laura Keenan
