Hello everyone, I am incredibly saddened to share that my mom, Deborah Rogers, was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in August of 2022. Even after finding out that the cancer has spread to her bones, brain, and liver, she was more concerned with how this diagnosis would affect her two kids and husband rather than how it would affect her. That’s just the kind of person she is. My whole life I have watched my mom take care of our family first and herself last. Now it is our turn to take care of her, but we need help.
My dad is self-employed and if he’s not working he doesn’t get paid. This means he can’t afford to take my mom to all her appointments during the week. As the only other driver in the house, I take my mom to her appointments when my dad can’t (and mom can’t drive herself right now). However, as my mom was diagnosed after my first year away at university, she made me promise that I will stay and finish my degree, meaning that I won’t always be able to take her to appointments or be with her during the week to help with all the day-to-day things she needs help with.
Over the last 6 months I have watched my mom manage to stay positive and keep a smile on her face despite all the pain and suffering she has been facing. My mom is a fighter, and right now she is fighting harder than ever. But I don’t want her to fight more than she has to. Please, if you can, help in supporting my family to fight with her.
These donations will be used to offset the cost of medical bills and to replace lost income currently and over the last 6 months. Anything helps (even if it’s just a prayer) thank you.
