Debra Johnson's Recovery Expenses
Donation protected
My daughter, Debra Rosser Johnson, was involved in a head on collision on April 7th. The other driver was passing on a double line and hit her head on. They were lifeflighted to Vanderbilt. She has 2 broken femurs, a nearly severed leg at the ankle, 7 fractured/broke ribs, and bruised chest from hitting the steering wheel. Thank God she had her seat belt on or it would have been so much worse!! She has had several surgeries. They have put rods in both broken femurs and they have put rods through her foot and brackets to keep her leg/foot secured until they can do surgery in 2-3 weeks. They say there is a possibility she could lose her foot. So please keep her in your prayers!!! She will be going into a nursing home/rehab next week until they take her back to Vanderbilt for more surgery on her leg/ankle. She is going to need extensive therapy and they say her recovery period will be 6 months to a year. She will be going back to nursing home/rehab center after that surgery. She cannot have any load bearing weight on her left leg for 6-8 weeks and right leg unknown right now and cannot care for any of her personal needs below the waist. She is not going to be able to work for a long time and will be needing help if you can, in any way, until she can get back on her feet. Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to keep her in your prayers!!!!!!!!!!
