Debra Sewell funeral costs

Hi. My name is Ricki and I'm trying to raise money to help pay for my mums funeral. She sadly passed away on the 24th November. She fought long and hard but finally lost her battle to cancer that had spread over 5years. Unfortunately all of us are unable to contribute much and are struggling with the costs. I have seen that people have done this in these situations before and it's worked for them so i thought i have nothing to lose by giving this a try to help more in some way.

I didn't know my Mum very well which meant I don't have alot to say about her or have memories as far as painting a picture of who she was to let you know abit about her unfortunately, but I know my brothers and sisters who grew with her loved her dearly. They had lots of fond memories with her and are deeply saddened with grief at this very hard time. Listening to some of their memories, they had a great life together and she loved them all dearly too. I know she was a strong woman who had a few misfortunes in life but over came them and was able to be a great mum. She was loved by all the people who knew her. Due to the break down in our relationship it meant i also didnt have a relationship with my other siblings who grew with her, so i just wanted to find a way of being there for them and help them during this very difficult time. I also wasn't there during her battle and would love to be able to be there for her now.

Update: I wanna say a massive thank you to everyone so far who has helped me raise this money. I'm seriously overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and I am so grateful for your kindness. It means more than you'll ever know and i know the rest of the family are truly thankful too.

The funeral was a lovely service and send off, where her family and friends were all able to gather and enjoy the wake afterwards. Beautiful words were spoken and lovely stories were shared and I'm sure she would of been proud.

I didn't managed to reach my goal but because it's being paid for afterwards in installments, I wanted to try and leave this up for a little while longer to try and raise some more to help my brothers and sisters cover the costs. The total costs were were nearly £5000 which I'm sure you can see or know yourselves is alot and a heavy debt to go into the new year with. Even though the amount that has been raised will go a long way and will be a big help no matter what, i still want to be able to help just that little bit more, if this is possible. My other dream with this was to be able to donate to the hospital who took care of her. Im also hoping that your kindness during this sad time will be a comfort knowing that even people who didn't know my Mum, my siblings or even some of you may not know me, you all cared enough to help, which will never be forgotte.

I no times are hard for everyone, myself included with the cost of living and Christmas round the corner but even if you could donate even a £1, it might encourage others to, as I know I've hesitated in the past to donate where I can't offer that much. Being on the other side of this, I really can see that everyone's donation no matter how big or how small does really count and make a difference in some form or another. Even if u cant donate, sharing also helps to circulte and hopefully reach those who can and who also may want to help. Kindness I believe creates a butterfly effect, as although I do often donate, I will definitely be donating more often after seeing how everyone has helped me. I definitely felt the love from those who have donated or even shared and it has made me want to do more myself. Itsl is hard to ask for help, k. Mot usually one for doing so but also i know not everyone will receive this the way intended but for me it definitely shows you're not on your own when you received the help. Hopefully this may encourage others who come across this one or others to reach out too and ask for help if they're in need.
