Debra's Transplant Journey

Hi my name is Regina and I am fundraising for my mom Debra Dubuisson. She was diagnosed with COPD and Emphysema along with Alpha 1 deficiency since the 90's. She has come to to point that she will have to have a double lung transplant to have any quality of life. I'm not sure if you are aware of the financial burden this can be. Her health insurance will cover most all of the medical cost but... We have to go to New Orleans for all the testing. She will have to stay in the hospital for a month and someone will have to be with her round the clock while she is in the hospital and for 3 months after. They are really wanting her to stay in the city close to the hospital. Travel, and rent and food and such is going to add up quickly. Not to mention all the available vehicles are without heat and air. We hate to ask for help but this is a very tough time. We have to prove we have the funds to do all that comes with the transplant or they will deny her the new lungs. We greatly appreciate any help that is given. And more than anything the prayers that are being lifted up. Please share so more people will learn of her journey to a better life. UPDATE!!!! MOM HAS BEEN LISTED!!! At this point we are just waiting for the call that they have found her a lung!!!!!!!
