Hello Neighbors, Friends and Family,
We hope everyone is safe and healthy. This has been a trying time—for everyone. Before all this, we had planned on sending out invitations—April marked our official 15-year anniversary. We wish we could have celebrated with all of you, especially because, now more than ever, we realize that being a part of this community is what makes our brand so special.
Small businesses like ours depend on each and every one of our relationships with you. While there are some resources available to small businesses at this time, frankly we cannot count on those alone to survive. You may have heard about the different small business relief funds. What you may not have heard is that very few small businesses are actually getting any help.
According to a recent article, establishments with fewer than 20 employees make up about 90% of all small businesses— fewer than 10% have received any federal funds. Like us, these are the kinds of businesses that bring character to your community and make your downtowns and Main Streets what they are. And right now, we’re all struggling.
As a small business, we have been through a lot. But nothing could have prepared any of us for this. We would never have considered asking for your help in this way, but right now we have to. We hope the funds we raise will help us get through the next few months and the aftermath of this pandemic. They will solely be used to cover business expenses and overhead, such as rent and employee payroll and benefits.
Any and all of your support is a blessing. You can also purchase gift certificates and many of our Ready-to-Wear items on our website . Right now, we’re donating 10% of the proceeds from our new Spring/Summer Shirts to the Jersey City Medical Emergency Response Fund. Or you can simply share some kind and encouraging words with a review on Yelp. Every little thing matters more than ever now.
We miss our workshop. We miss our people. And we miss doing what we love. We hope you know how much we appreciate you all, near and far.
