Marissa’s Fearless Fight

If you are reading this post, you may know me or someone in my family. My name is Andrea Colucci Drew, sister and best friend of Marissa Kirk.

This past week, after a seizure at home, Marissa was taken to the hospital and underwent a series of tests.

On Tuesday she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in her Frontal lobe. She will be undergoing surgery on Friday to remove the tumor at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.

Her process of recovery will be long and uncomfortable and the financial and emotional toll on her family will be great.

If you know Marissa, you know she would give the shirt off her back for those she cares for. Her empathy, compassion and kindness is unmatched. She has been there to love and support me through so much in my lifetime, and now it’s my turn to do the same for her.

I am asking for support for her, her husband, and her children, whose lives have all changed drastically this week, as they go through the long and tedious process of recovery.

I promise to update this with updates on her condition as we move forward.
