Support dedicated dad & his family after accident
On August 19th what was supposed to be a 20 min ride before bedtime, turned into a scary accident that put my boyfriend EJ in the ICU. EJ and our daughter Clover didn't make it home as planned that night, because EJ lost control on his electric skateboard and went flying at about 20+ mph with his head & body hitting the concrete.
Our brave 9 year old was a hero that night, when she called 911 because he couldn't say her name. EJ has a tramautic brain injury that consists of a subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in his brain), a grade 1 diffuse axonal injury (microscopic injury to the white matter in his brain), 4 broken ribs, a broken scapula, and lots of road rash.
Last month, a minor scrape on his knee also put EJ in the hospital when it got infected and he was treated for MRSA. Our family is currently facing eviction due to getting behind on bills from his last hospital stay. Now because of this accident, he is going to be out of work for a couple months at minimum. He is going to require many follow up visits with doctors, as well as physical therapy. Our family is desperately asking for your help to relieve some of our financial burden during this incredibly stressful time. If you live in CO, you know how nearly impossible it is to live off of a 1 income household. We don't want to lose our home or the stability for our daughter, as this incident was already extremely traumatic for her.
All of the money donated will go to help keep a home over our family's heads while EJ is out of work. As well as any medical bills not covered, childcare and other expenses that may come up. As I write this, Clover is turning 10 years old today, and EJ is being discharged from the hospital. I thank God he is alive and coming home.
I beg you to please not take life for granted and to give love to everyone special to you in your life. EJ and Clover were only gone from the house for about 10 minutes before this accident happened. If it wasn't for him wearing his helmet, and our daughter Clover acting quickly, he may not be here right now. Thank you to all that donate or share our story.
