Dee's Memorial Beach Bench
Donation protected
Hello,
Thank you for visiting. Since Mom's passing last week, Jennifer and I have received so many supportive messages and often accompanied by the question, "What can we do?"
Mom knew very well that the current state of the world would not allow for a gathering of friends and family in the near term. When it's safe to do so, we will organize a celebration of her life so that we can gather to share stories and our special remembrances.
In lieu of a gathering, we would like to honor Mom by creating a gathering point; in the form of a memorial bench in Ocean Park, ME. The benches in Ocean Park are a fixture. A great place to sit and enjoy the surf, catch a little sun or simply pause to brush off the sand and put your shoes on at the end of a Maine beach day.
Ever since she and her husband Don spent their honeymoon at the beach house in Ocean Park, the beach at the end of Tunis Avenue meant family to Dolores.
To her, The beach was the place where family from near and far gathered to reconnect after a long winter and the place where lifelong friends were made and maintained. We, can think of no more meaningful tribute to her dedication to family and friends than to leave a memory of her on Tunis beach in the form of a bench and memorial plaque. Thank you for keeping her memory close.
A secondary recipient of donations will be the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital where Mom received truly extraordinary care and treatment over the last 10 years.
