greetings
Through this letter I communicate with you hoping to be able to count on your help since I am in a moment of great need. I arrived in Canada on April 11, 2022, just 10 days after marrying my best friend and looking to start a wonderful and long life together, full of dreams and high expectations, I migrated with my husband, we entered the country as tourists but we came looking to settle in this beautiful country, it has been a year of challenges and mental and physical challenges for both of us because it is the first time in our lives that we are 100% responsible for our well-being.

Getting a job with our status has been a bit difficult, since we don't find anything stable and our pay is in cash, we have known how to manage our salary to be able to afford life in Vancouver, where rents are very expensive, sometimes if our family needs help in our country of origin Mexico, we do our best to help them, so we don't have savings,

Now the central focus of this letter is because I am pregnant, I realized when I had a 10-day delay in my period, I took the first home test and it came out positive, my husband and I were very happy and excited without knowing how expensive it was to bring a baby in this country when you find yourself with tourist status, I began to investigate the costs of delivering a baby and the hospital bill would start at $20,000 for a normal delivery, and would increase if it was by cesarean section and when I realized that we cannot afford it because we have no savings, we live paycheck to paycheck, my husband and I found ourselves in the need to make the most difficult decision in our marriage, to have an abortion... with a heart full of sadness we made an appointment at an abortion clinic, the appointment would be for Friday, July 21, we hugged each other and with tears in our eyes we thought it was the best, we would not bring a baby into this world without even having a hospital where it could be born, but Everything got complicated, I started with lower back pain, after a 17-hour day as a nanny, on Saturday, July 8, when I got home I asked my husband if he would please smear me with ointment and he did so, we we went to sleep and the next day the pain did not subside, fortunately I had 2 days off and I thought that this would be enough to relieve my back pain, but the pain only increased and I asked for the week off from work, the pain It happened to my left leg, I rested for 4 days, my leg began to change color and swell, it was not until Friday, July 14, that I went to a walk in clinic.

They performed urine tests on me and thus confirmed my pregnancy, they performed an ultrasound and Dr. Alex, to whom I am very grateful for his attention and concern, could only tell me that I was 1 month old and that the product was well positioned, I still with the decision that had already been made in mind, my eyes filled with tears again, doctor Alex was more concerned about my leg, he said that my symptoms were very rare, he said it repeatedly, strange, strange, strange, He decided to send me urgently to the St Paul hospital, when we arrived at the hospital in the emergency area specifically, I was impressed by the amount of money they asked me just to admit me for not having insurance, $1272 cad, knowing that I did not have that amount with me, we went to our house, my husband spoke to his boss, who is also my boss, to ask him for a loan, because from what Dr. Alex had told us, it was likely that I had a blood clot and what we were able to investigate is dangerous My boss kindly lent us the money.

We returned to the hospital and they took care of me, they gave me my first dose of anticoagulants and they sent me home, I returned the next day to have an ultrasound in my leg to locate the clot, they admitted me again to the emergency room due to the results that the ultrasound had produced , and they charged me again for my income, $1272 cad, they injected me with the anticoagulants again and asked me to return the next day for another dose, but knowing that they would charge me again, I commented my dismay to the nurse and the nurse very kindly told me He got a prescription so he could apply the medication at home.

On Monday, July 17, we saw the specialist and I asked him if it was advisable to have an abortion because of the anticoagulants that they were giving me, he told me that it was very risky, since blood clots are found in a large area of my body. body, which goes from my leg to my calf, I could bleed to death and if I stopped applying the anticoagulants it was dangerous, so I asked him if I could travel back to my country, to be able to treat my thrombosis there, because in only 4 days I had a very large hospital bill, there I also saw a little hope for my baby, if I returned to my country there I could have my baby, the specialist told me that it was not possible to travel, because if it came off a clot could travel to my lungs, heart or brain and I was at risk of dying during the trip.

- [ ] Without being able to work, without being able to return home, without being able to pay for a hospital bill, it was that I began to look for more options, although I could hardly find a way out of this situation, that is when I remembered that there are very good people in this world I hope and please can you help me, thrombosis treatment is expensive in my case because they are injectable, the last dose will run out tomorrow, Wednesday July 19, I really want to live and I know that my baby too, has clung so much to come to be part of this family and be born in this country that I had thrombosis, thank you very much for reading me
