Deepesh Patel Scholarship Fund

So many of us loved Deepesh “Jake” for what we saw of him. We loved his zeal for life. We loved his being a gourmand; We loved his passion for the moments that galvanized him.
What many didn't see was how deep his love was within. His family - father (Vinod), mother (Malti), sister (Reena), brother-in-law (Tom), and most recently and most of all, niece (Maya) – were the center of his world. His friends and extended family were his bedrock. His work fueled him. He lived for making better life experiences for others, whether it be through his cooking elaborate meals for friends and family or through his incredibly generous spirit.
For some, Jake was the life of the party. For those closest to him, Jake was simply, our life.
Over the last several years, Jake masterminded an entrepreneurial venture to create a childcare and early learning center in Brooklyn, NY that brought together all of the most important things in his life: his family, his passion for entrepreneurship, and most importantly, his desire to create a warm, nurturing environment for Maya. His goal from Day 1 was to use proceeds from the center to create a scholarship program that would equip other children to attend this school who otherwise would not have had the means to.
To honor his wishes, his passion, his spirit, and his legacy, we are creating a scholarship fund to help ... Jake's life calling was to provide for the people he loved and for people in need.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, we ask that you honor Jake's legacy for the residents of the Bedford-Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill neighborhoods by assisting those seeking quality childcare and preschool options determined to be in financial need.
We greatly appreciate any contribution to this cause. It would mean the world to Jake and his family that his legacy be helping children flourish.
